- I am planning on using IntelliMover to transfer my accounting software information; will IntelliMover work for me?
The best way to accomplish this task is to create a backup of your information and then transfer that file using our File Transfer Utility program. Please refer to the accounting software's vendor for proper instructions on how to create backups.

- Does the Detto IntelliMover delete files off my OLD computer after I move them to my NEW computer?
No, IntelliMover BE does not erase, delete or overwrite any files off your computers. Please see WipeDrive

- My computers appear to be running slow while running Detto products?
IntelliMover will use quite a bit of memory while running through its process. Please try not to run other programs, as this will affect processor speed and performance on the computers. In order to determine what programs are running, first cancel the IntelliMover program.
To completely close programs running in the background press CTRL+ALT+DELETE on the old computer to display the "Close Program" dialog box. A list of all the running programs on that computer will then display in the list box of the "Close Program" dialog box. On a Windows 95 computer, the only essential program that needs to be running is "Explorer". Click any of the other tasks to highlight it and then click on the "End Task" button to temporarily shut it down. You will then have to press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to display the "Close Program" dialog box again. Now click the next task and click "End Task" again. Repeat this process until all unnecessary tasks have been ended except "Explorer". These tasks will all resume again the next time that you reboot.
On the new computer, with the XP operating system, the only programs that usually require attention are anti-virus software. Find the anti-virus icon on the system tray (usually at the right-hand end of the task bar at the bottom of the desktop screen). Then right-click the icon and choose the option to disable the anti-virus protection.
Now run IntelliMover on the old computer by double-clicking the "IntelliMover" option from the "Start-Programs-Detto IntelliMover" submenu. You won't need the CD-ROM anymore since the software is already installed.

- When I try to install the Detto IntelliMover I receive an InstallShield error and then the installation cancels?
This is a known issue involving InstallShield and Windows operating systems; this issue can occur when there are damaged files in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Install Shield folder. The Install Shield folder is similar to C:\WINDOWS\TEMP folder. After you install the program, the contents of this folder are no longer needed or used.
Here are some things you may want to try:
- Please verify that you do not have insufficient permissions on the machine. You need to have administrative permissions to run an InstallShield, which is used to install Detto products. Make sure you have the correct permissions.
- Delete the Install Shield folder and clean out the Temp directory.
- Start Windows Explorer
- Browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Install Shield.
- Right-click the folder, and then click Delete on the shortcut menu.
- When the confirmation message appears, click Yes.
- Browse to C:\Windows\Temp
- Delete the contents of the Temp directory.
- When the confirmation message appears, click Yes.
- Restart your computer.
- Reinstall the Detto program.
The other potential cause is a missing Stdole.tlb file. This is a core Windows file and should exist on your machine. If you are trying to install to a Windows 98 machine, download and run Dcom98.exe from the following site:
http://www.microsoft.com/com/dcom/dcom98/download.aspReinstalling Internet Explorer (IE) 5.x can also repair a number of corrupted/missing core Windows files from your machine, so reinstalling IE 5.x might be another solution.

- I just successfully ran the Detto IntelliMover program, I wanted to move additional files between my computers with File Transfer Utility program but I cannot get it to work (establish connectivity between the computers).
Known Issue: Please sure make you reboot the OLD computer also so that Windows can release some files that may be still be in use from the IntelliMover process.

- I keep getting an error upon installing the Detto program that I have an Unsupported Internet Explorer Version, I am a Netscape user?
Please visit the Microsoft Website for an updated version of Internet Explorer 4.01 or greater. Detto products rely heavily on updated Windows DLL and system files that are installed with updated Internet Explorer applications.

- My Outlook folder list did not migrate over after I used the IntelliMover program.
Known issue, to make visible please click on the View menu and select the Folder List.

- I cannot find any of my Outlook XP emails (or contacts) I had on my new computer prior to using the IntelliMover.
The Intellimover program does not delete any information off any computer. Your email information is still on the new computer. Please follow these steps to recover any information that is not available in Outlook.
To import the information back into Outlook after you ran the Intellimover program, please follow these steps:
- On the File menu, click Import And Export.
- Click Import from another program or file, and then click Next.
- Click to select Personal Folder File (.pst), and then click Next.
- Under File To Import, click Browse.. under Look in select the following location: C:\Documents and Settings\
\My Documents\DMK Data Files\Microsoft Outlook\Microsoft Outlook. You should see a PST file you can double-click on. - Under Options, click Do not import duplicates, and click Next.
- Under Select the folder to import from, click to select the Personal Folders (.pst) file, and click to select Include subfolders, click to select Import folders into the same folder in, click your new Personal Folders (.pst) file, and then click Finish.

- I am having problems reading the Detto IntelliMover CD on my new computer.
If the CD installed fully on your older computer, please refer back to the manufacturer of the new computer for this issue, as this is hardware related. There is a known issue with hardware needing updated and newer hardware drivers to be installed on new computers.

- I just used the IntelliMover program, the program brought over some things to the newer computers operating system that I did not want.
Unfortunately there is no way of undoing the Detto IntelliMover process. The only way to revert the operating system back to the original condition is to use the Windows operating system tool called "System Restore". This program allows you to restore the computer to an earlier point in time. It can be found from the START menu under ALL PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, and SYSTEM TOOLS. We are considering an Undo feature in future product releases.

- Will Detto products move over my programs that I downloaded from the Internet?
If the program is a free downloadable program, the best solution is to download the program again to the new computer so you can have the latest updates for that program. If it is a program that you purchased from the Internet please refer back to the vendor of the downloaded program.

- Can I use Detto products if I only have one monitor for both my old and new computers?
Yes, our program will specifically ask you if you are using one or two monitors so that the program will customize itself to give you the proper instructions when using only one monitor with the Detto program.

- When I use Detto products, are my files copied or moved from old computer to my new computer?
The intelligence behind our software not only reproduces the same location or file structure of your files on your new computer but it also leaves the files on the old as to not delete or remove anything off both computers.
To permanently destroy the files off your old computer, please visit our WipeDrive page

- Do Detto products delete files off my old computer after I move them to my new computer?

Most of the icons will move over. However, due to the nature of some programs, some Desktop Shortcuts cannot be migrated.

- Does IntelliMover BE move playlists?
Yes, depending on the size of your playlists, processing can take a proportionate amount of time.

- Not all my Microsoft Toolbars migrated to the new computer using IntelliMover BE.
Migration from Outlook 97 or Outlook 98 Corporate Workgroup (CW) to Outlook 98 Internet Mail Only (IMO) is not supported. Furthermore, migration from Outlook 98 IMO to Outlook 98 CW is not supported.
The reason for this is that Outlook 98 is installed to work exclusively in either Corporate Workgroup or Internet Mail Only modes (only the files designed to work in that mode are installed). If you wish to migrate from Outlook 98 to Outlook 98, you must install it in the same mode on both computers. If you wish to migrate from Outlook 97 to Outlook 98, Outlook 98 must be installed in Corporate Workgroup mode on the new computer.

- The Microsoft Money application did not migrate.
MS Money files will be migrated to the default file location under the My Documents directory if the alternate file location that you defined does not exist on the new computer.

- I used IntelliMover BE and transferred my profile to the new computer, my Outlook settings did not migrate or integrate.
Please be sure that a personal folder exists in Outlook on the source computer. When there is no personal folder store on the local machine, the Outlook profile will not migrate.
