tool educates customers on upgrading to
new HP Pavilion or Compaq Presario desktop

announced that it has created the HP PC
Migration Advisor, a free web-based tool
developed to help HP customers understand
how to migrate their personal data to
a new PC.
Available
January, 2004 at www.detto.com/hpadvisor,
this free utility will analyze a user's
PC and advise them on how to migrate to
a new HP Pavilion or Compaq Presario PC,
either using migration software like Detto's
award-winning IntelliMover or manually.
In 2002, Intel surveyed over 1,200 PC
users and found that 39% of them felt
that migrating from an old PC to a new
PC was a problem serious enough to delay
or prevent them purchasing a new computer.
The vast majority of users were unaware
that they could migrate their data, preferences,
files and music to their new PC, or that
there were software products that could
do it for them.
