INTELLIMOVER®:
Windows XP has a File Transfer Wizard
to transfer files from an old PC to a
new PC. An alternative method, particularly
useful if you have a different operating
system, is a handy package known as IntelliMover
by Detto Technologies.
The
process is quite simple: install the CD
on both old and new computers, decide
what you want to transfer to the new computer,
connect the USB or Parallel cable (both
are included) when instructed to do so,
and IntelliMover takes it from there.
You
should install all your programs from
the original media; but, for email, music,
photos, files, folders, setting, and so
on, IntelliMover will save you bundles
of time. It claims average transfer time
of 500 mb in just 6 minutes for Network
connections, 12 minutes for USB, and 90
minutes for parallel.
It
supports Windows 95B, 95C, 98, 98 SE,
ME, 2000, and XP with a Pentium class
processor, IE 4.0 or better, 32 MB RAM,
and 50 MB drive space free. More info
