- Does Move2Mac convert PC files to Mac format?
Move2Mac transfers files from the PC to the Mac. Move2Mac does not move applications or convert PC files to Mac format. Most applications which have a PC version and a Mac version (like Microsoft Office) can open PC files on the Mac without any conversion.
- What happens to my folders that are on the PC?
Move2Mac moves relevant folders from the PC to the Mac and preserves the folder structure. For example, the Windows folder My Documents, its contents, and its subfolders, are moved to the Mac and placed in the appropriate Documents folder.
- Does Move2Mac v5.0 migrate email?
Move2Mac will move and convert the e-mail messages, address book and calendar for Outlook on the PC to Mac OS X 10.5 Apple Mail. Note: for those using Entourage, a folder named “Data to Import” will be placed on the Mac Desktop to import into Microsoft Entourage.
- What is the transfer rate for Move2Mac v5.0?
- Wired Network: 1 GB in about 10 minutes
- WIFI G: 1 GB in about 20 minutes
- Your results will vary upon your old PC network adapter and wireless network router - Can I use Move2Mac for migrations on more than one computer?
A single user license of Move2Mac allows multiple migrations from only one specific PC to any number of Macs. To migrate from another PC requires an additional copy of Move2Mac. Note: Volume license packs of Move2Mac are available.
- How do I find what Move2Mac has transferred to my Mac?
The location of each transferred file is listed in the "Files Location" file located on the desktop of your new Mac.
- What are the system requirements?
- Microsoft® Windows® XP and Vista
- 500 MB hard disk space
- 128MB RAM
- AC Adaptor (for notebooks)
- Mac OS X 10.5 and later - Will Move2Mac v5.0 work on earlier versions before Mac OS X 10.5?
Move2Mac v5.0 is not compatible with Mac OS versions prior to 10.5.
- Will Move2Mac transfer my passwords stored on my PC?
As a matter of policy, Detto does not migrate passwords.
- Why didn't my Internet Explorer Home page migrate to my new Mac?
The Internet Explorer homepage will only be migrated if Internet Explorer has been initialized (run once) on the Mac.
- Does Move2Mac move files back and forth between the PC and the Mac?
Move2Mac only moves files from the PC to the Mac.
- Does Detto have a solution to move files from one PC to another?
Detto's award-winning product IntelliMover is a PC product that will move information, including email, files, folders, applications and system settings from one PC to another.
- What application settings does Move2Mac v5.0 support?
- Operating System User Folders: My Document, My Pictures, My Music, My Videos, Desktop Operating System Background Screen (any JPG format, "Internet Explorer Wallpaper.bmp" "Wallpaper1.bmp")
- Microsoft Internet Explorer (6.0-7.0): Favorites, homepage (with some exclusions)

- Where does Move2Mac put all my data when it transfers it to the Mac?
Move2Mac will automatically determine the appropriate Mac destination location and place the data there. Many files will be in your Documents, Pictures, and Music folders.
- Can I migrate between two Macs?
Currently the Move2Mac product will only support migrations from a PC to a Mac.
- Can I use Move2Mac to migrate through my wireless network?
Yes, Move2Mac will support migration using your network wired and/or wireless network. You can even use just a network cable (RJ45) between your PC and Mac if you want.
- Will Move2Mac move viruses from my PC to my new Mac?
In order to prevent from transferring any viruses to your new Mac; Detto Technologies recommends that you install the appropriate updated Anti-virus software on your old PC and scan before transferring anything to your Mac.
